We've moved!

With the baby on the way and how busy law school gets, Dan and I decided to say farewell to the condo we've been living in for the past four years. After a long process of apartment hunting between Springville and Orem, Dan and I finally found a place we both immediately loved and felt good about. We found it completely by accident - Dan just happened to turn down a random road that lead to a neighborhood neither of us had ever seen before, and we saw the For Rent sign. Three days later, we toured the little two bedroom, one bath duplex and met the owners, who were meticiulously cleaning inside (which we thought was a good sign!)

The selling point for Dan was the medium-sized backyard - he was already envisionining BBQs and our little one playing in the back, and absolutely loved that it felt like a separate little home - as opposed to right smack in the middle of other apartment units. We hit it off really well with the owners (I'd like to think my little bonding-talk with the wife about our mutual love for KOHLS had something to do with it). They admitted they don't usually rent on the same day couples tour the place, but they felt good about us, too. The only tricky part was convincing them that our cat would not be a problem! Our beloved "devil-cat" Layla was the downfall to most of our apartment searching. However, after loyally advocating on her behalf and agreeing that we would be de-clawing her (as well as putting up extra deposit money), the deal was made!

We've been living in our apartment for almost three weeks now and really love it. It's peaceful and is so fun to start off fresh. Sometimes change can be hard, but I always adjust rather quickly (thanks to my childhood life-style of moving every 2-4 years!) and was really excited for what the future might bring. We have yet to start working on the nursery - that is my September goal! But the crib is ordered and the bedding picked out, so we should be good to go fairly soon!

By the way... we didn't move far. The duplex is only 5 blocks northwest of the condo! So that made moving super easy, and it's makes visiting my dad even easier! I'll post some pictures once we've got everything up and decorated.
