Home Sweet Home!

After waiting 2 1/2 weeks to hear back about our offer, I received an exciting call from our Realtor that we are finally home owners! Or... potentially could be if everything continues to work out.

The day before we left for New Jersey (after moving to Las Vegas for a mere 24 hours or so) we went house-hunting and found another home we felt good about. We completed the paperwork online, and through scanning and faxing documents from New Jersey, we sent in our second official offer since we began our house-hunting process in January (totalling 4 separate trips). While waiting, we found out there were 2-3 other bids on this same house, so we tried not to get our hopes up...

But it's ours!

Here's a website that brings a few pictures up:

What's funny is that this layout is exactly the same as our original house that we found back in March that we loved, but that was snatched up off the market so fast! The biggest difference is that the "March house" was newly carpeted and painted so it looked amazing inside. This house we bought needs a little TLC but we also bought it for way cheaper than we anticipated, and now we get to pick out the carpet and paint so it's better overall.

The square footage is 3320, and it has two master bedrooms: one upstairs and one downstairs. We feel like having two master bedroom suites is a little bit of a waste of space but for those that are visiting, you'll certainly have your privacy! (Incentive much?) For those that have visited the Shipleys, the layout is kind of similar:

You walk in to an open front room (dining room/formal living room) with the stairs to you left, followed by the laundry room, a half-bathroom, and then the master guest bedroom, (bathroom and walk-in closets included). If you walk past the dining room/formal room, the kitchen will be on your left and the family room to your right. A sliding glass door leads to a small backyard with some over-grown trees. Going up the stairs, the 2nd master bedroom is directly ahead. At the top of the stairs if you turn right you will enter a medium-sized loft. Passing the loft there are three more bedrooms separated by a bathroom.
We might be able to close around September 20th, give or take a few days, but we still can't move in until early October. We need a couple weekends to carpet and paint the inside before we move all our belongings inside. But I'm so excited to be a step closer to feeling settled! And now we can start attending the ward we will go to.

Yipee!

How exciting! What a nice house! Are you sure 1,100 square feet per person is enough? Just joking! Congratulations, I'm so excited for you guys.
