Since Aaron reached 2 months, life has been pretty smooth for us. He is a much happier baby, who hardly fusses at all unless he needs the usual: feeding, diaper, or a nap. Baby Wise seriously made such a big difference for us. I guess I like the organization of my day, give or take 30 minutes, and Aaron responds extremely well to it, as well. He is down for the night between 8 and 9 PM, (usually closer to 8) and wakes up to eat around 3 or 3:30 AM. Then, most nights, he wakes up happy between 7 and 7:40, laying there quietly except for cooing or the dry, stuffy nose snorts he does each morning. That's basically my alarm clock. We eat, snuggle, maybe fall asleep together for a few more minutes, and then retrieve Aiyana from her crib at 8, where she's either just woken up or has been reading books. It's been pretty nice and I feel really blessed that these two are sleeping so well at the same time.
Some pictures from this past month:
I love the snuggles!!
Just a little education in brushing his teeth from his older sis
Highlights
- Started to smile and coo just after he turned 2 months
- Has developed a sweet, raspy laugh!
- Loves to laugh during the song, "If You're Happy and You Know It", and open his mouth with a big, wide smile, exposing his tongue and gums. So cute
- Has the best eyebrows! When he smiles, they arch up and just add extra animation to his adorable face.
- Still pretty bald but getting some hair striations again.
- Can sit in the bumbo for a minute before he slouches over to the side like a sack of potatoes
- Still wary of Aiyana's IN-YOUR-FACE attention, but often smiles at her now, too, especially when she hurries over to comfort him if he's crying. He seems to like her . . . with a bit of distance for safe measure. It's a sweet moment when he smiles at her.
- This kid sleeps a lot during the day! He's only awake for an hour, two hours MAX, and he's wanting to nap. He has some shorter naps during the first part of the day, but by 2pm, he will sleep for 2.5-3 hours, which is right during Aiyana's nap, so it's perfect.
- Personality-wise, he is a calm, happy baby! He does still have a startling, high-pitch cry once in a while, so I'm pretty sure he'll have it in him to go the tantrum route when he's older. But for now, I'm enjoying his sweetness.
Just chillin' during our daily dose of "Trouble" -- or "Pouble", as Aiya calls it
This is what happens when your older sister shares her toys.
Are you ready? Here are the smiles (and his latest 3-month photo shoot):
She loves him.

He's just too adorable!!! Can't wait to get to see him again!
So cute! I love that Aiyana is right there in all the pictures with her baby brother. I am sure that Lydia will be the same way when her brother is born. You children are so beautiful. Love to see pictures!
