Catching up on my pregnancy

At 10 weeks pregnant, we had our first doctor's appointment on March 30. It didn't go at all like I imagined it would. Dr. Gourley didn't wait for Dan before trying to find the heart-beat, even though Dan was only a couple minutes away. Then the Dr. couldn't find the heartbeat, which caused all sorts of anxiety, having heard heart-breaking stories about that happening. But the Dr. was insensitive about my worrying and told me not to be so "intense", which hurt my feelings and embarrassed me. He also was a bit of an odd-ball, who barely spent any time talking to Dan and I before he rushed out the door.

So that left me in tears, with Dan doing his best to comfort me. However, we were sent to get an ultra-sound that afternoon. This time, Dan was beside me holding my hand, just as i imagined he would be. And together, we smiled in relief and awe when we could see and hear our little baby inside me.

Needless to say, we changed Drs and I now see a nurse-practitioner/midwife by the name of Heather Johnson. She's so personable and awesome!
