Our First Date

Two weeks ago: Dan, of his own free will and choice, bought two tickets to New Moon to celebrate our first date since Ty was born. I hadn't intended on fighting the ultra-crazed fans - but since it was Dan's idea, I couldn't pass it up! The tickets were for the day after it opened. We ate an early dinner at Red Lobster, one of our favorite restaurants, with one of the TWO gift cards Dan received for his birthday (Thanks guys!). After we ordered, it only took a minute before we both realized how we must have looked: We were seated next to each other, both of us with one elbow on the table and our heads rested in one hand, looking off into space... Our first date in four weeks and we both almost opted just to take a nice long nap for the evening! Ty was wearing us out!
Fortunately, we pepped up when the food arrived. We shared the most delicious platter we've ever eaten at Red Lobster. And trust me. We eat there at least every few months! I could go just for the biscuits, but our meal also included cesar salad, peppercorn sirloin steak, skewered shrimp in a creamy garlic sauce on rice pilaf, and a lobster tail. Oh, and a sunrise pina-colada. Mm-mm..AMAZING.
Next, we showed up at the theater an hour early. We were in the back of a very long line! Still, we were able to find two good seats and cozied up for the show. We both enjoyed it and Dan's not ashamed to admit it. Sure, it's not truly a high-quality movie and some of the acting is sub par but... I love the story-line and the books enough to overlook that.
Thanks to my mom for her willingness to babysit and allow us a fun evening together!
